Create a Resume that Answers an Employer's Prayers

Many job seekers think that an employment search is all about them. While there is no doubt that finding a job has a lot to do with the person looking, it also has a lot to do with the person reaching out for help.

Probably one of the biggest mistakes job seekers make when conducting a job search is giving the impression that they're only concerned with their own needs. That's why it's good to conduct your search from the perspective of who needs the help - the employer - and showcase your ability to answer their prayers.

Pinpoint the Prayer

In order to understand just what prayers an employer needs to have answered, you must first pinpoint the problem they're having. If the employer has made a job posting available then you have virtually all of the answers to your questions right in front of you. Whether the employer says that they need someone who holds a specific degree or someone who has a specific number of years of experience, the information is there for you to see.

Companies also do a good job of making prayers available via their websites and company bios. They may discuss what they believe strongly in and what they look for in a person who is interested in working for the company. All of this information can be translated into the company's prayers and offer insight into just how you could successfully answer them.

Offer an Answer

After you've learned just what the company's prayers are, it's up to you to make sure that your resume reflects answers that could make the company want to snatch you up quickly. For you to be applying for a position in the first place, it is likely that you have a lot of qualifications that meet the company's requirements, so bring them to the forefront by lining up your skills and accomplishments with their requirements and desires in an employee. Also, add in a few extras like rewards and testimonials to let them know that others not only have appreciated your contributions but have rewarded you for them or want to recommend you to others.

When creating your resume, if you don't think that you can make it answer an employer's prayers then you may want to find a professional that offers help with resumes. At the end of the day, the employer is the one that is willing to pay for you to be the answer they've been praying for. So make sure you find out everything that the employer is looking for then make sure you prove without a shadow of a doubt that you're the one who can make it happen.
